Community matters, and so does your voice. Now is the time to speak out, join a movement, get involved, do the work. Spend one-day getting reconnected with important voices of activism to spur on your own. We'll read, think about, talk about and revel in the work of Adrienne Rich, Audre Lord, Claudia Rankine, Angela Y Davis, Solmaz Sharif, Martin Luther King, Jr. and others. Workshop will include prompt-based first-draft writing to bring new clarity to the focus of your activist agenda.

Designed for activists, writers, or anyone looking to feel more inspired in our current political climate, we'll start by working on a definition of activist poetry, we'll look at plenty of it together and we'll spend time discovering what we might have to say right now as individual thinkers and as a community of thinkers coming together for the day. This is a great chance to get connected to others who use art as an instigator for their thinking, their activism and their lives. Open to all backgrounds and skill levels.
